As our project continues to build momentum we gathered for our second plenary meeting on the 8th and 9th May in Bled, Slovenia. Our agenda focused on progress made over the first 4 months of They Buy For You and plans for next steps. We’ve achieved some key milestones so far. These include scoping procurement open data sources and APIs, collecting information to create engaging business cases, and developing data visualisations. So far we have identified around 150 relevant data sources which will be extracted, normalised and ingested into our developing toolset over the coming months.
It’s still early days, but significant progress has been made, with partners are set to meet again in mid-September in Spain. To follow daily updates on the many aspects of our project, including our developing knowledge graph, how we manage datasets in different languages, and contracting data, please visit and connect to our Github repository.
They Buy For You is an EU Horizon2020 project using open data to build tools for better and fairer procurement, with the aim of stimulating growth in European data companies, saving €billions in public spending, and combating corruption in the tendering process.
